James Webb Space Telescope Launch
We’re excited beyond words about the impending launch of the James Webb Space Telescope.
The James Webb Space Telescope is one of the greatest scientific accomplishments of the past decade. This telescope will attempt to send back pictures of the Universe shortly after its formation, documenting the early Universe. The scientific world will be watching as the telescope is launched this week. We’re counting down the days until the JWST takes its place in the L2 orbit, 4 times farther than the moon.
Space travel and exploration is one of humanity’s greatest endeavors and here at Gadgetcetera, we are fully behind any multi-national attempt to explore the cosmos. Sometimes students ask me why we’d spend money on space travel when there are problems here on Earth. It’s a valid question, but the benefits that come from the exploration of space often lead to solutions that benefit all of us here on Earth. Miniaturization of electronics is one example of how dedication to landing on the moon provided great technology that benefitted us all. Who knows what we’ll learn from this new telescope, but we’ll likely learn the answers to questions that we didn’t even know to ask.
The launch will be livestreamed on NASA TV, NASA app and the agency’s website. The live coverage will begin one and a half hours before the targeted launch.
STEM and Tech Products
Anyway, I have seen first hand how engagement with technology can lead youngsters to exploration and greater self-confidence. Many of the products that we sell are geared towards creativity, STEM and science! Sometimes the benefits to playing with science toys and tech are a bit hard to pin down, but I know that they are there.
